U19 and U17 national teams learn their fate

The draws for the qualifying rounds of 2009/10 UEFA European U19 and U17 Championships have been made in the house of European football's governing body, UEFA in Nyon.

In U19 tournament, the 52 entrants were split into 13 groups of four, while Turkey were drawn alongside defending champions Germany, Moldova and Luxembourg in Group 3. Turkey will play their matches in Luxembourg on 7, 9 and 12 October 2009 respectively. The top two in each qualifying round section, plus the two third-placed sides with the best record against the top two in their group, will progress to the Elite round, which will be played in the spring of 2010. The winners of the seven Elite round sections will join hosts France in the final tournament that summer.

52 teams will participate in U17 Championship qualifying round too that were split into 13 groups of four too. Turkey were drawn in Group 5 together with Germany, Finland and FYR Macedonia. Fixtures on 23, 25 and 28 October 2009 will be hosted by Macedonia. The top two in each qualifying round section, plus the two third-placed sides with the best record against the top two in their group, will progress to the Elite round in this competition. Liechtenstein will receive a bye to the first round as hosts of final round.
