Turkey U19 National Team have secured a place in the UEFA European U19 Championship Elite Round after defeating Wales 3-0 in style at Mardan Sports Complex. Tunay Torun made a double in the game on 21 and 51 minutes while Sinan Osmanoğlu were the other name on the score sheet. Turkey guaranteed a top-two finish at Group 11 by reaching 6 points.

In the other game of the group, Romania booked a place in the Elite Round as well thanks to their 2-0 victory over Andorra.

Turkey will conclude their qualifying round campaign with their final match on November 15 against Romania, before they play their Elite Round matches which will be played between March 1-31, 2009
