U18 National Team, coached by Feyyaz Uçar, beat host Russia 3-1 in the 3rd place match of Valentin Granatkin Cup which is held in St. Petersburg, Russia. The match was played in SCC Petersburgsky Stadium and Turkey's goals came from Berk İsmail Ünsal (Min. 9), Recep Niyaz (Min. 81) and Kenan Karaman (Min. 89) while, Nikita Lobanov (Min. 31) hit the target for Russia. Grigoriy Morozov from Russia was sent-off on 87th minute. Recep Niyaz and Ovsyannikov were selected as man of the match.
With this result, U18 National Team finished the tournament in the 3rd place. In their previous matches of the cup, U18s will beat Latvia 7-0 and drew 1-1 against Czech Rep. in their group matches and lost to Italy 4-2 by penalties in a classification match. Besides, Recep Niyaz from Turkey was selected as player of the tournament bu organization committee.
In the final match of the tournament, Italy beat Finland 4-0 and won the Valentin Granatkin Cup.
