U17 National Team, coached by Hakan Tecimer, defeated Kazakhstan 3-0 in their first match of 2013 UEFA U17 European Championship First Qualifying Round Group 12 which is held in Croatia. The match was played in Pokraj Jadra Stadium, Solin, Croatia and Turkey's goals came from Orkan Çinar (Min. 18), Ismail Köse (Min. 30) and Batuhan Altintas (Min. 42) (Pen).
In the day's other match of the group , the hosts, Croatia beat Israel 4-2.
U17 National Team will face Israel on 16 October 2012 Tuesday at 16.30 with Turkish local time in their second match of the group.

52 teams are drawn into 13 groups of four teams in Qualfying Round and The top two in each group along with the two third-placed teams with the best record against the leading pair will progress to the elite round which will be played in March 2013. In Elite Round, 28 teams are drawn into 7 groups of four teams and the seven group winners in that round will progress to the finals with the joining hosts Slovakia in the final tournament that May, which will also act as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, to be staged later that year in the United Arab Emirates.
