The game witnessed a delightful fair-play example. After the injury of a Turkish player, Croatia sent the ball for a throw in. Turkey put the ball in play and sent back it to the keeper but Croatia's goalie accidently let the ball in the net. After Croatia's kick-off, Turkey goalkeeper Murat Akşit instantly scored an own goal to balance the score.
