Extraordinary TFF Congress for elections was held today in JW Marriott Hotel, Ankara. After the congress, Yıldırım Demirören has been selected as the 41th president of Turkish Football Federation. 229 of 231 delegates voted in the congress that at the end, Demirören received 221 votes of them. Before the elections, Hüsnü Güreli who was the interim president of TFF after Mehmet Ali Aydınlar's resignation, made the opening speech of the congress.

Yıldırım Demirören, who was born in 1964, İstanbul, is the vice president of Demirören Company Union at currently. Between 2000-2004, he served as a vice president and executive board member of Beşiktaş A.Ş. while; from 2004, he was the president of this club until the TFF elections. Demirören was also the president of Clubs Union Foundation until September 2011.
