24 countries will participate the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2013 which will be the first world championship under Turkey's host. The nomination period of FIFA U-20 World Cup 2013 for Turkey has started on 30 September 2010 with the notification of TFF to FIFA for want to host this championship.  After FIFA had replied the necessary host country agreements on 15 October 2010, TFF had sent its bid agreement on 26 November 2010. Finally, the bid dossier book had been delivered to FIFA on 10 February 2011.

7 participants from Europe

Participants of FIFA U-20 World Cup are determined according to their successes in their own continental championships. Because of being a host. Turkey qualifies automatically to the championship which is FIFA's second great sport organization. Turkey had participated in FIFA U-20 World Cup lastly on 2005 and had reached to Round of 16 which the cup had been held in Netherlands.

According to continental championships, UEFA sends the first 6 countries of U19 UEFA European Championship  to FIFA U-20 World Cup. AFC, CAF, CONCACAF and CONMEBOL are participated with 4 teams in each while, OFC sends 1 country to the tournament.
For hosting 52 matches in the tournament, the cities of Antalya, Bursa, Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Manisa, Rize, Şanlıurfa and Trabzon have offered. The host cities of the championship will be determined finally between these 10 cities and 13 stadiums, after the site visits of FIFA officials.

The champinoship of the stars in the future

FIFA U-20 World Cup firstly organized in Tunisia on 1977 which had been known FIFA World Youth Championship before. In this tournament, the world's best 24 youth teams become together in two-year. FIFA U-20 World Cup whichis a chance for the star players in the future to show their skills into the world football scene at first time as Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, will be held in Colombia on this summer.

Over 1.2 millions of people watched this tournament from the stadiums on 2009 in Egypt  while, over 500 million live the tournament's fever from TVs.

On Canada in 2007, FIFA U-20 World Cup had brought  around 300 million dollars to the Canada's economy and alongside of 2130 volunteers, 1700 person had had a job from this tournament.
