U16 National Team coached by Abdullah Ercan beat Russia 3-2 in a friendly match in Krylia Sovetov Stadium, Moscow, Russia.  Despite  the penalty goals from Samir Yusifov on 24th and 44th minutes, Turkey made a succesful comeback. On 48th minute, Ahmet Çalık lowered the score difference into one. Then, Okan Deniz equalised the score on 73rd minute. On 80th minute, Recep Niyaz gave a big comeback win to Turkey from a penalty goal.

Turkey had won the match with same score in their first friendly match against Russia on 27th July 2010. Turkey's goals had came from Hakan Çalhanoğlu (min.7), Serhat Kurt (min.40) and İbrahim Yılmaz (min.72). On the other hand, Evgeni Kirpisov (min.68) and Timuri Buriya (min.68) were on the target for Russia.  Evgeni Kirpisov had sent-off on 80th minute of the match.
