U17 National Team, coached by Hakan Tecimer, lost to Croatia 4-3 in their last match of 2013 UEFA U17 European Championship Group 12 which was held in Croatia. The match was played in Gospin Dolac Stadium, Imotski, Croatia and Turkey's goals came from Mert Öztürk (Min. 25), Turgay Gemicibasi (Min. 63) and Samet Acar (Min. 76) while, Muric (Min. 3), Fiolic (Min. 27), Rogulic (Min. 47) and Kresic (Min. 70) hit the target for Croatia.
In the day's other match of the group, Israel beat Kazakhstan 6-2.
After these results, the group winner Croatia and the runner-up Israel qualified to the Elite Round while, Turkey's qualification to the Elite Round as aone of the best third-placed teamwill be decided after the all group matches.

52 teams are drawn into 13 groups of four teams in Qualfying Round and The top two in each group along with the two third-placed teams with the best record against the leading pair will progress to the elite round which will be played in March 2013. In Elite Round, 28 teams are drawn into 7 groups of four teams and the seven group winners in that round will progress to the finals with the joining hosts Slovakia in the final tournament that May, which will also act as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, to be staged later that year in the United Arab Emirates.
