Beşiktaş are crowned Turkcell Super League champions after beating Denizlispor 2-1 in the final weekend of the season. The İstanbul giants had also won Fortis Turkish Cup earlier this month which means Beşiktaş became the first team since 1999/00 season ever to make the double.

Filip Holosko collected a through ball from Edouard Cisse and enter a breakaway situation with Cenk Gönen before sending the ball into the net to give Beşiktaş the lead on 29 minutes. On 63 minutes defender İbrahim Toraman applied a powerful finish to the ball he brought from midfield and doubled the lead.  Six minutes from time, Emil Angelov flicked the ball to Douglas Braga who scored from close range to pull one back for Denizlispor.

Having seen his side reach a decisive triumph at the end of the season Beşiktaş coach Mustafa Denizli is proud. "We have ended a long adventure successfully, we totally deserved it. It's great to complete the double. I am so happy that it feels as if I have a volcano inside me." he said.

Second-placed Sivasspor will participate in UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history along with Beşiktaş despite losing 2-1 to Galatasaray. The score also guaranteed a place for Galatasaray in next season's UEFA Europa League. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor lost 2-1 at home to Fenerbahçe but both teams clinched a place for Europe League as well.

Elsewhere, Konyaspor have taken the final relegation place, with Kocaelispor and Hacettepe long-since resigned to going down.

Manisaspor, Diyarbakırspor and Kasımpaşa are the new teams of top flight, having secured promotion from Bank Asya 1. League.
