kişilik nüfusa sahiptir.
Sultan II. Murad dönemide Osmanl›
‹mparatorluğu’nun egemenliğine
girmiştir. Ege Denizi’nden 55 km
doğuda, deniz seviyesinden 78
metre yüksekte yer al›r. ‹klimi ve
coğrafi konumu sayesinde
Turgutlu’da zengin yelpazede tar›m
yapmak mümkündür. Turgutlu
topraklar›n›n %54’ü tar›m yapmaya
uygundur. Üzüm, pamuk, tütün,
domates, buğday, kiraz, şeftali ve erik
başl›ca yetiştirilen ürünlerdir. Son
y›llarda Turgutlu, geçirdiği değişimle
birlikte sanayileşme yönünde büyük
ad›mlar atmaktad›r. ‹lçedeki en
turistik bölgelerden bir tanesi de
Urganl› Kapl›calar›d›r.
Host city
Manisa ve tüm Ege Bölgesi’nin en büyük
ilçesi olma özelliğini taş›yan Akhisar,
160 bin 620 kişilik nüfusa sahiptir.
Akhisar’da yaşama dair ilk izler M.Ö.
3000’li y›llara kadar uzan›r. Burada M.Ö.
1300’lü y›llarda Amazonlar›n yaşad›ğ›
tahmin edilmektedir. Akhisar daha sonra
Hititler, Lidyal›lar, Roma, Bizans ve
Osmanl› ‹mparatorluklar›’n›n
egemenliğinde kalm›şt›r. Akhisar, paran›n
dünyada ilk kullan›lmaya başlad›ğ›
yerlerden biri olmas› sebebiyle, çağlar
boyunca canl› ve önde gelen bir ticaret
merkezi haline gelmiştir. Ekonomisi
temelde tar›ma, özellikle de zeytin, tütün
ve üzüm üretimine dayan›r. Akhisar’›n
Spor Toto Süper Lig’de mücadele eden
bir futbol tak›m› ile 16 amatör tak›m›
bulunmaktad›r.
The biggest district of Manisa and all
Aegean Region with a population of
160.620. Settlements began near 1300
BC by Amazons. Later, the site
became a cradle for civilizations like
Hittites, Lydians, Roman Empire,
Byzantine Empire and Ottoman
Empire. One of the earliest locations in
the world where Money is used, even
this factor made the town a lively and
established trade route for ages. The
driving power of its economy which is
based 70 percent on agriculture, is
olive, tobacco and grape production.
The first life indications in the city
dates back to 3000 BC. There is one
professional club in Spor Toto Süper
League along with 16 amateur clubs.

Turgutlu county of Manisa has a
population of 146.087. Established
under Ottoman Empire during Sultan
Murad II's reign. Situated 55km east
of Aegean Sea and 78 metres high of
sea level. The climate and
geographical position of Turgutlu
allows policultural agriculture. As a
matter of fact, 54 per cent of the
county's lands is eligible for
agriculture. Grape, cotton, tobacco,
tomato, wheat, berry, peach and plum
and grape are the leading elements of
production. However, Turgutlu is
taking giant steps in terms of
industrialization. The most touristic
location in the county is the Urganl›
Thermal Baths.
