Losing the chance of qualifying for 2010 FIFA World Cup finals after Bosnia-Herzegovina's 2-0 win over Estonia, Turkey were defeated by Belgium with the same score at Roi Baudouin Stadium.

Emile Mpenza's double helped the home nation claim their first win under new coach Dick Advocaat.

Mpenza who was left unmarked inside the penalty area, put Belgium ahead seven minutes into the game. Then added his second goal on 83 minutes in a breakaway situation with goalkeeper Volkan Demirel.
