Turkey lost their second 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in five days against Spain with a 2-1 score at Ali Sami Yen Stadium.

Semih Şentürk gave Turkey the lead after collecting an assist from Tuncay Şanlı on 26 minutes. Xabi Alonso leveled the game from the spot on 62 minutes and Albert Riera scored the winner for Spanish national team after collecting a pass from Daniel Güiza on stoppage time.

In the other fixtures of Turkey's World Cup Qualifying Group, Group 5, Estonia beat Armenia 1-0, while Belgium slumped to a 2-1 defeat over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
