Preparing for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month, Turkey played their first and last test match against Chile and defeated their South American opponents thanks to a winner by Halil Altıntop.

In the goalless first half, both sides had chances to score but none of them can be converted. The hard football of the visiting side caught the eye.

In the second half, Chilean side came close to scoring twice but their efforts were cleared from the goal line by Gökhan Zan and Tuncay Şanlı. Meanwhile, Chile's Estrada had one shot free kick hit the crossbar,

On 74th minute, Turkey created a well-organized attack; Halil Altıntop collected a nice pass from Nuri Şahin and applied a nice finish to score the winner in the game.

Seven minutes from time, Gökhan Ünal's free-kick hit the bar and Turkey missed the chance to double the lead.
