Turkey drew 2-2 against Belarus in the game played on an icy pitch in the Belarussian capital Minsk.
Vitali Kutuzov put the home side ahead after 34 minutes but Tuncay Şanlı rattled in a splendid equaliser three minutes later from a Nihat pass, and Turkey dominated the remainder of the first half.
A number of substitutions resulted in a slower pace to the second period, yet Belarus again took the initiative when Vyacheslav Hleb, who had come on for Kutuzov, restored their advantage after 64 minutes. However, once more the lead was short-lived. Having come on for the injured Arda Turan three minutes earlier, 33-year-old Larissa FC midfielder Tümer Metin received a clever lay-off from Tuncay to score from inside the penalty area.
Goalkeeper Tolga Zengin, defender Ceyhun Gülselam and forward Mevlüt Erdinç made debuts, and Serdar Özkan got his first international start with Belarus match.
