7.500 children play football in Grassroots Day

Turkish Footbal Federation celebrated 19 May which is declared as Grassroots Day from UEFA, with a magnificient organization. With the effect of 19 May is also celebrated as Youth and Sports Day in Turkey,  together with, TFF Football Development Directorate organization, 7.500 children found a chance to play football in 47 different part of the country.

Besides of the activities which are done in 39 club and 6 Football Training Center that are located different parts of Turkey, Turkish Football Federation organized an activity in Beylerbeyi Stadium, İstanbul on 19 May as well. With the support of Ülker which is the sponsor of children's football, the students from Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor's football acedemies played football during the organization.

Ülker which is the main sponsor of TFF since 2007 and provides an opportunity to the children for playing sports, getting an education and being socialize as well, has supported that 220.000 children to join with football until this time.

Besides, 8 elementay school participants which are consisted from 20 students from each club that come from 13 Spor Toto Super League, 14 Bank Asya 1. League clubs from 47 parts from the whole country has also attended the organization.

Tolunay Kafkas, TFF Football Development Director, underlined that UEFA give importance to Grassroots programme so much and he added that TFF has improved fastly in Grassroots Charter by reaching 5 star in this programme joined since 2007.

Kafkas also mentioned that '' We look to Grassroots as a supplier to elite football and provider for being socialize and live more healthy of the people with the football. In this issue, children are our priority. With the sponsorship of Ülker, children's football has improved so much with the effect of Football Training Centers and Football Villages' projects.''
