UEFA Executive Committee get together in İstanbul

İstanbul was hosted the UEFA Executive Committee meeting on 20 and 21 March 2012. The UEFA Executive Committee completed its two-day meeting in Conrad Hotel and decided on the bidding process for UEFA EURO 2020.

An invitation will be sent out to all 53 UEFA member associations, outlining minimum criteria in terms of number and capacity of stadiums, and the national associations will have until 15 May to declare their interest in hosting the 24-team final tournament.

The UEFA Executive Committee rejected the request of Welsh clubs playing in the English leagues to be able to qualify for the UEFA Europa League via the Welsh Cup.

Besides; Lisbon's Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica and the new Juventus Stadium will stage the 2014 finals of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League respectively.
The UEFA Executive Committee also awarded the organisation of the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship to the Czech Republic, while the 2016 UEFA European Futsal Championship final tournament will be played in Belgrade, Serbia.

Youth competition hosts were approved as follows:

• UEFA European Under-19 Championship: Hungary (2014), Greece (2015) and Germany (2016)
• UEFA European Under-17 Championship: Malta (2014), Bulgaria (2015) and Azerbaijan (2016)
• UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship: Norway (2014), Israel (2015) and Slovakia (2016)
• UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship: England (2014), Iceland (2015) and Belarus (2016)

Besides; the 36th Ordinary UEFA Congress will be also held in İstanbul tomorrow AT İstanbul Congress Center.
