Cüneyt Çakır invited to EURO 2012 Finals

TFF's FIFA Referee, Cüneyt Çakır has been invited to officiate in EURO 2012 Finals which will be held in Ukraine and Poland in June 2012. The decision was taken in UEFA Referees Committee, UEFA Headquarters, Nyon at today.

With this decision, Çakır will be the first Turkish referee who officiate a match in UEFA European Championship Finals after 16 years.

Cüneyt Çakır, who was raised from UEFA 1st Category to UEFA Elite Category, started to his refereeing career in 1994 and became FIFA Referee in 2006. He officiates Turkish Super League matches since 2001.

Here are some important tournaments and matches that Cüneyt Çakır had officiated in the past:

-2006-07 UEFA U19 European Championship
-2008-09 UEFA U21 European Championship Semi-Final
-2010 UEFA Europa League Semi-Final Second Leg
-2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup

Alongside with Cüneyt Çakır, 12 referees have appointed by UEFA Referees Committee for EURO 2012 Finals.
