2011 Robocup Olympics to hold in İstanbul

The official launch of 2011 Robocup Olympics, which will be held by the support of Boğaziçi University in İstanbul, Turkey on 5-11 July 2011, was made today. As being a strategic business partner of 2011 Robocup Olympics, TFF was represented by Mahmut Özgener, TFF president, and Lutfi Arıboğan, TFF Vice President, in this official launch.

'' I want to congratulate Boğaziçi University community to bring this organization into Turkey which is accepted as a prestigious organization in international level. I believe that the 15th Robot Olympics (2011 Robocup Olympics) will be the most magnificient Robot Olympics, which will be held in Turkey for the first time.'' Özgener said during the press conference in the official launch.

2011 Robocup Olympics will be held in İstanbul Expo Center with the participation of approximately 1500 robots, 4000 robot researchers from 40 countries. During the tournament, robots will set out their abilities in the special match field, to shop in a real supermarket according to their shopping list and to search wounded persons who stay under the wreckage. At the end of the tournament, Louis Vitton Humanoid Cup, has a 20.000 Euro cost and sponsored by Louis Vitton, will be given to Humanoid Robot League champions.
