U15 National Team, coached by Hamdi Aslan beat Iran 4-2 at Jalan Besar Stadium and made a bright start to Girls Youth Olympic Football Tournament in Singapore. First goal of the match came from Turkish side by Eda Karataş which is also the first goal of the Girls Youth Olympic Football Tournament history. Fatemeh Adeli (Min.67,own goal), Feride Serin (Min.70) and Kübra Aydın (Min.80+2) were the other scorers for Turkey against Iran.

FIFA president Sepp Blater also watched the match.

In the opening day's other match, Trinidad & Tobacco was beaten 1-0 by Chile.

On the second match of Group A, Iran will face Papua New Guinea on 15th August. The last match of the group will be played between Papua New Guinea and Turkey on 18th August.
