UEFA EURO24 Bid Brochure

12 CREATING A LASTING LEGACY INSPIRE OUR YOUTH European Football Championship's positive impact on the host country is significant. Young people account for 28.7% of Turkey's population, so it is certain that their love of football will be fuelled by the opportunity to witness UEFA EURO 2024 in their own country. This tournament will inspire our youth and enhance our program ‘Turkey plays football’ . INVEST IN OUR PEOPLE A portion of our income, generated from the projects we presented in our candidacy, will be used to make football more accessible for women, children, people with disabilities amateurs, and refugees. We will also invest in our people through volunteerism and our stadium operator’s academy. INTEGRATE REFUGEES Nothing else can touch our hearts, reach out to every corner of our country, and unite us the way football does. Turkish Football Federation (TFF) understands this responsibility and football’s positive social impact on the society. Football embraces and connects not only our own people, but will support the ongoing integration of millions of refugees into our country. BRINGPEOPLECLOSER TOGETHER We will welcome passionate football fans not just from Europe, but from all over the world for the most glorious European football event. We will make the idea of 'A Bridge Between Nations' real. As the hub of three continents, Turkey connects great civilisation points of world history and we embrace more territories than any other UEFA member association. INVOLVE AND INTEGRATE EVERYONE Football brings people together regardless of gender, race, ethnicity and ability. UEFA EURO 2024 will contribute to further development of football culture and encourage young generations and people with disabilities to participate in organised football at all levels. DEVELOP OUR GRASSROOTS MOVE Investing in grassroots football is a key element for being a strong footballing nation and the TFF is fully aware of this fact. In parallel to this, TFF has undertaken a project in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to renovate existing club training facilities and build new ones. As part of this move, we will construct a further 26 brand-new modern training facilities. Those facilities, which will offer 2,000-seater stands, natural grass pitches, spacious dressing rooms and accommodation, will be completed by 2023. Participating teams will be able to use the camp centres during UEFA EURO 2024, which will then take grassroots education to the next level in Turkey.
